Snow Globe card "HOME SWEET HOME"

 Hi how are you today?
I hope happy and ready to see what I did this week with the Snow Kissed collection....crazy! Doing snow in August! Thinking out of the box....so, this time I used a snow globe ball as the card base and framed the horse drawn sleigh with the fantastic snow flake frame. Of course winter is not with out snow laden trees. So get the coffee or to get into the mood...hot coco ready and enjoy.
(you could always turn on the cooling fan to really get into the winter mood...lol)

OTHER PRODUCTS:
Inks: Distress Inks: Faded jeans, Pine needles, Forest moss. Derwent Inktense water color pencils: 1910-Red oxide, 0850-Deep blue, 1560-Fern, 0200-Sun yellow, 2300-Antique white, 1320-Ionion green, 1740-Saddle brown, 0720-Thistle, 1710 Amber, 1900-Willow, 0600 Shiraz, 0500 Chili red. Paper: Card stock: Crafters Companion White hint of gold 300gm, White card stock for stamping. Watercolor paper. Other: Diamond dust, Double sided foam tape, Clear embossing powder, Archival black ink, Versa-mark, Fussy cutting scissors, Creative Expressions embossing folder ILLUSION EF-015, Dutch Doobadoo Snow Globe stencil, Ranger Glossy accents. Spellbinders circle dies.

Note of interest: (Below you see the globe open. You can not see it but the window has been linked with the clear card-stock. The spruce trees are not glued down but are supported by the card-stock. This is because you will see all the glue etc from behind once the card is opened...important to remember. Just make sure you tape and glue right up to the edge of the clear card stock.)

Directions:
This card measures about 13cm x 17cm when completed.
Using the Doobadoo Snow Globe and trace out or draw a snow globe in card form. Ink the Snow Globe edges with the ink. Cut a hole in the front to place the clear card stock to form a glass front. From the paper pad, select and cut a matting for the out side foot and inside foot and ball. Emboss both paper cuts. Taking the white card stock cut: matting for the front inside foot, cut 2x the large snow flake, cut 6 x the Home Sweet Home title. Adhere the title layers together, ink the top layer with Pine needles ink then apply a thick layer of the glossy accents. Put aside to dry. Stamp the image of the horse and sleigh, color with the watercolor pencils. Die cut into a circle. Stamp the spruce trees first with ink then with clear embossing powder then die cut and shape with the shaping tools. Apply the white drying glue

To the tips of the trees, large snowflake, the sentiment and the snow lines in the stamped image apply the white drying glue then dip in the Diamond dust. When dry adhere all in place on the card front and card inside. To finish the card, apply a thick layer of the white drying glue to the edge of the globe out side and inside. Dip this also into the Diamond dust. Ready to go.

Giving you a birds eye view of how the fold is constructed.
These spruce trees look really good when placed in layers. Also stamping the tree image in different colours and sizes adds great interest to a project.

Here you get to see close up the title. When adding the glossy to the title, put enough on so it nearly flows over the letters. When putting aside to dry, make sure your work lays flat or else you will find the glossy has run and blobbed. I always try to leave it over night to give it the time it needs to dry.....love these trees! See how they have the die cuts in the branches. So you can shape them. Here I did not do that. If you did, it would have even more dimention.

Add the white glue to the edge then sprinkle the diamond dust over it....then you get this yummy snow sparkle effect. Whats more, it gives a hint of bling....and we know how much I like bling!
See how the embossing gives that extra interest. Love the texture.Don't worry if the paper cracks a little...thats part of the fun!
Wishing you all happy thoughts and moment for your day,
inky hugs to you from sussipoppins

NEW COLLECTION FROM HEARTFELT CREATIONS...'SNOW KISSED'

Hi, welcome to my hang out place.
Today I want to share a very elegant card to start the new 'SNOW KISSED'  collection off with.
The tag and box in this release can be used all the year round.
Today I start with a Z slider card...I am totally in love with at the moment. If you make one you will know what I mean... Have fun on your visit.
'BABY IT'S COLD OUT SIDE'
Heartfelt Creations Products and Products carried by Heartfelt Creations:
Other Products:
Card stock: Crafters Companion 300gm White hint of gold. Other: Versa-mark, Ranger glossy accents, Glue dot, Winter white seam binding ribbon, fussy cutting scissors, 1/2 Gold pearls, Diamond dust. Black soot, Pine needles distress inks. Foam distress ink tool.
Directions:
The finished size of this Z slider card is 15 cm x 13.5 cm.
Using the white card stock cut for the card base, 27 cm x 13.5 cm. Make folds at 6 cm and 12 cm across the 27 cm side to form a hill and valley fold. 15 cm x 13.5 cm and 6 cm x 13.5 cm. from this will be decorated with design paper. The card front extension, cut 13 cm x 10 cm. For the card front slide, cut 11.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
Find the papers in the paper collection to decorate the card fronts. Taking 2mm off the edge for each layer.  Take the tag die from the Snow Kissed collection and cut from the design paper. Do the same with the tag die from the Luggage and Tags die set.
After applying ink to the edges of the cut design paper, adhere all to the card stock bases.
* NOTE*
Matting on the card front extension is left open along the top so the card front slide can be slipped in to it. Adhere the Card front extension about ? cm up from the card foot edge. The card front slider can now be adhered to the center top of the card.
Stamp the Spruce trees with the gold embossing powder, cut and shape with the flower shaping tool kit.
Apply the white drying glue on the tips and branches of the Spruce tree, sprinkle Diamond dust over the glue. Put aside to dry.
Die cut the leaf banner image and apply glitter to it.
Find the sentiment, cut and apply gold embossing the edges, do the same for the tag edges.
Make a bow from the ribbon. Arrange the embellishments then adhere in place.
Sprinkle a little gold embossing powder onto the tag and background, heat emboss this. Add the ? pearls.
Apply the glossy to the birds and berries. When dry slip the card front slider between the matting papers that have been left open and card stock. This will allow the card to close and when pulled a little, the card will stand firmly on it’s own.
I found this card base so wonderful....so much so that I will be using this as a card base in a lot of my future cards....if you visit often you will notice...lol
Thanks for stopping by to look at the details of this card.
sussipoppins inky hugs...and I wish you a very happy scrappy day.

Please note all the stamping is done with the gold embossing powder.
Got your skates on yet?....lol
Instructions: Begin with washing the tin can. Because all cans are not equal, you will need to cut the cardstock to fit your own can measurement.  Cut: 1 outer and 1 inner cover from the green cardstock. Cut an outer and inner circle also from the same green cardstock.
Taking the boarder die, cut a strip to fit the can top edge with a 1.5 cm over lap. Adhere the cardstock to the out side of the can. Place and adhere the border to the can edge. Spray a little with water to help get the cardstock to fold and bend better if needed. When dry adhere the can lining and inner circle. Ink the can edge.
Stamp, die cut, color and shape the leaf border. Adhere this border to the inside can edge to hide the cardstock joins. Adhere the under bottom circle in place.
Stamp, die cut x 2 of the fence. Color the fences with the Bundled sage and Ground espresso inks. Trim the fence to fit the outside of the can, apply foam dots or tape to the back then attach.
Stamp, color, die cut and shape the Poinsettias,
Then the skating-boots and mittens.

Adhere these in place with glue and foam dots. When all is dry and secure, apply stickles to make it all pop.
Aren't these mittens and skates so cute!
You could always make a set of theses. Have them joined together or leaves separate to show all your skills.
This is a very practical gift or a must have for your self. Remember there is always more joy in giving, but even more joy in making.
Well with that scrappy thought....I wish you much inky scrappy fingers and
sussipoppins inky hugs.
