My Boys

"My Boys", A sketch taken from the nearest scrap store in Carins. They do a challenge every month.
"Scrap Therapy"
The boys are my sisters' children, Edward and Ethan. I wanted to leave a bit of me when I left, and of course such little adorable monkeys they are.....just love them to bits. I sure am going to miss playing dinosaurs  bad man and getting all the latest info explained top me.....I won't be missing the Macky's ice cream that I got addicted too!
The paper I  used is brought out through Stampin' up...my new project...hahaha

I have tried something new here. Using the basics....card stock. design paper and gesso. The back ground is made with masks and gesso, using the bingo and the ink splatter design from "Work Shop". Circles punched out of design paper done the same as the back ground. The numbers are fancy cut from the design paper and flowers cut with dies. Below are a few more close ups to enjoy.

I hope you had fun.  I am blogging on  borrowed wi-fi over here, I am now in New Zealand catching up on friends and family ( So much to do and so little time to do it. ) so my blogging will be even worse than it was!
The good news is, I shall be home in about 3 weeks, so I shall get over the jet lag then get back into the routine.....hopefully!
Have a scrappy day, scrappy love Susan.
PN: A special hi to all my new made friends in OZ.

I MADE CARDS

Getting into the cards.... seriously!
hahaha...laugh not too hard....first take a look at my effort. Still trying, and a lot different from doing a LO.
Not as much room!

The above card is my Fav. Love these birds and frames from Joy. Balled and misted for that vintage distressed look. Love it! Flowers from Nelly S. punches to be found in Holland.

Something a bit different, but simple...I have found with card making for me any way....
"less is more"....
The back ground and swirls are made with the help of those wonderful Cherry Lynn Dies. Just love them, like all my other dies....can we ever get enough of them,........
NO!
Flowers are the left overs from the last posted LO.
All is finished with the Glimmer Mists...can't not use my most fav. colour "Olive Vine"

Letting you in on a secret.....
I am having this great big giant love affair over here in Australia.......
while the cat is away the mice will play......

It is to do with paper and ink and all things yummy! (as always).....
(what is she up to now??????)
It's called "Stamp'in Up"
We all know it is hitting Holland 8th October..... that's old news.....I just wanted to do a lot of home work to see if it was for me or if, "Stamp"in Up" fits into my life plan. Well it does! And I sure will be signing the dotted line when I get back from this wonderful gallivanting around the other side of the world....
........having so much fun and all that..So watch out for further posts......

I was invited to give a WS here in Cairns,  the Table Lands, at a Stampin Up retreat, given through Shannean Moncrief, the Stampin Up guru here in Cairns.
What a success it was,
I have never had so much crazy fun, made 31 card front swaps, met so many wonderful ladies and gentleman...yes there was one from MARS there! I might add, I was very impressed with his work.
I can be saying with out a lie.I had only 3 hours +- sleep from Friday am till Sunday night.
I was wearing dark glasses all day Sunday to hide all the eye make up that made it's way down the face...I am talking about those dark rings that are in the wrong place.Who cares when we can scrap till we drop, ....literally!
Not enough time to sleep. Scrap book challenges.
She was a tough one! No flowers allowed! It's called tough love over here..you know the sort of love you use with your kids.. Goes with out saying, there was also, card making challenges through the weekend.I sure learn't lot's,last weekend.
My WS was working with the "Stampin Up" product. Just love'n what the paper does for my flowers.
Therefor I shall have to take photo's and up load them for you....just let me catch up on some shut eye first.
Sorry, you will have to wait a few days for that.
So until then keep on scrapp'n, create'n and have'n fun.

Scrappy hugs and love SussiP oxo

GIRLZ DAY

Another LO of the Scrap-delight design team...thus named "DT Girlz Day"

Sorry, Iam doing this on the i- pad again. Can't get to work it like the laptop. Same excuse of not having my product list with me....can not think of every thing when I get to go to the other side of the world to see my sisters! Sorry.

The background was made with the large...giant weapan of a punch from We R Memory Keepers "Lucky 8 Punch: Classic Wreath".

Circle, from the Dusty Attic large clock, stsitched with gold thread.

Most of the punches used are from EK.

Gold pearl drops made with the Paper Pen from Viva.

Flowers - made from the Tatterd Flowers die from Tim Holtz. Sprayed, moulded with the fingers, gessoed then something new for me - the edges touched up with a pearl pen - pearly brown/pink color.
I used Dusty Attic blooms as well, sprayed and inked to get the color to match. Same with the leaves.

Twigs are made with the Memory Box dies.Very fine, just love this product!

The girl cameo is from Dusty Attic. Painted white the Crackle Paint Clear Candy from Ranger. Add a little vintage ink so the crackles will pop.

The paper ribbon across the page is cut then embossed with the folders from Tim Holtz.

The tittle is, as always, or a lot.....cut x 6 stacked, glued then glossy.....yes making my own chippies is working for me. Touched up with Glimmer Mist using the paint brush and gesso to give it the finsh I wanted.

I hope you have enjoyed this post.

I only appolagise for my not normal posting. You will have to wait to see photo's of my stay here untill I can upload them.

scrappy hugs,
Susan xoxo

This Woman

Hi there every one. This is being posted while I am killing time at Hong Kong airport... 12 hours can sure be a long time!

So you will have to bear with me as I do not have my note book with all the toys I used to create this.....just using the grey matter... here it goes...

The paper used here, is  from an old Basic Grey paper line...Scarlets letters,.....and yes it is an older line, but still a fav from most scrappers.

The lettering is made from Quickutz dies. Yes I layerd them.....6 times... yes it is a pain to layer them, but as you can see it is well worth doing. Finish it with glossy from Ranger.

Flowers, I , of course made my self from tissue paper, useing the tatterd flower die from Tim Holtz.

The black twig with leaves and grapes, is brought out through Prima Marketing. If you look close enough you will see I have added a few leaf chips from Dusty Attic.....sorry I haven't got the # and name with me. Of course finished with gesso then painted with glimmer mist.

The wings are from one of Tim Holtz embossing folders.

The edges are punched with the help of Martha Stewarts toys....a true classic and a worth while investment......but what isn't......

Sorry got to keep it short, running out of battery. I was clever enough to pack the reserve and the addapter.....but it's in the suit case that was booked strait through......which all well and good is now in Carins with all my other goodies I could not do without!

So as they say catch you later, and as I say have a scrappy one.
Susan. Oxoxo.

PN. This is done on the iPad....so please make allowances for me.

"COLLECTIONS , TWIDDLY BITZ & PRIMA MARKETING"

A couple of tags well worth sharing....

'THE BEST MOMENTS'

ENJOY!

The flower, made with the Sizzix die from Tim Holtz...both sizes, stacked on top of each other, finished with Glimmer mist and Prima flower and pearls.

NOTE- Be careful if you want to do this yourself, as the tissue is very fine. Don't make it too wet with glue and mist or it will not be able to hold it's own.

I just love the crackle paint from Ranger, finished with stickles. Have to have some bling somewhere!.....or life as we know it could be so dull! We can't have that now can we?
The stamp used here is from Prima Marketing, colored with Glimmer mist.
Butterfly wings and dress form are from TWIDDLY BITZ
Tissue paper from, COLLECTIONS

Can't, not have a 3d photo to show you!

More close ups for you.

"The nameless one."

This tag has no name....thus, the name I shall give it now will be ,
"The nameless one."

I love this butterfly. I got such a buzz with making this....like the A Team, love it when a plan comes together...showing my age with this one!
It is worth doing a tut. on it...in the planning........
Sorry the photo does not show the bottom of the dress form well.
Wholes made with the crop-a-dile then, beads attached to jump rings- 7 gypsies-

But what I will share with you at this point, is The butterfly is cut out from one of the 'COLLECTIONS' papers you can purchase. The back ground is stamped with one of the Prima Marketing stamps released last year...one of their many to die for products. Painted of course by hand with Glimmer Mist,

Close ups of the butterfly.....and the dress form, Twiddly Bitz that is covered with the tissue paper.

Mallissa Frances glass glitter- Pink and Green.

Just wanted to show off with a few large close ups.hahahahaha....yes you see the butterfly is finished with those wonderful glass chips.

I hope you enjoyed wondering through my post today/night.....and yes I have good news for you.
So have a scrappy one, love and scrappy hugs, Susan

For those that are interested - The news to date.
I have this morning...the small hours...returned from two glorious relaxed non stress weeks from the France....I slept for the first two days! and, yes I did manage to get a tan ,and no, I did not Internet, so I could not post here,,that was a killer, as I had the time! and yes had time to kill.....laying around , reading, (TWO BOOKS and into the THIRD!) eating cheese and drinking wine...a little any way......Met a great couple while there and booked for next year for three weeks...wait till you see the photo's of the location for next year....you will be eating your hearts out for sure!
(some one commented today that I was not that brown........really!....... with the Irish blood in me! I am so glad I have a slight tint....with a little help from the Sun Bed I shall keep it in tact for Australia......YES IT IS TRUE!!!!!!!
A special note.....Sorry for all those that booked a WS at Scrap-delight with me....but I have not seen family and friends for at least 12 years...I could not pass up this gift my DH offered to me on a silver platter.......and yes I will be returning, I have booked a RETURN TICKET!....So I will make it up to you.....promise!
and yes again...
my other sister in New Zealand, Michelle, talked me into giving up three weeks in Australia to spend it with her and dear girlfriends in the
'LAND OF THE LONG WHITE CLOUD'.
But truly,.... this is a once in a life time thing! A two edged sword....being able to plan my time in as I want, not having to take Frans (DH)into account while away, as..... FRANS WILL NOT be traveling with me.....thats, a real down, down side. The up side is...I can scrap till I drop!
But absence makes the heart grow fonder.....
we will leave it at that....and...... but thankfully,we have skype and e-mail.....and who knows.....he might get a crazy idea to pick me up and travel home with me......won't hold my breath though...he's not a good back seat driver.
He is a retired KLM BVK...ops.... the cats out of the bag now.
I have booked and I'm flying out of Holland Friday 3 pm. 12 hour over stop at Hong Kong, so may be I'll spend a couple of hours looking around. Then I shall be landing on Australian soil 8 am Sunday.

Over there is Father's Day, so Cheere and boys will be picking me up, having coffee may be at Macies or whatever.

I shall hopefully keep you updated.

Bye Bye - time to fly!

She Dreams

A Lay Out for the Scrap-Delight Sunday sketch challenge.

This photo was taken at the last design team meeting a few months ago.
I am so in love with this photo! I am not photogenic, so hate having to pose for photo's....Thank you Janine for taking such great photo's and not to forget, a thank you, to Christine for rubbing all those unwanted lines and extra coloring we were not born with away for me. xoxoxo

The title "SHE dreams" was made with the "Word play" from Tim Holtz. Cut x 2 from packing boxes and x 1 from Glitz Design paper. Do you see the wonderful Dylusions stamped leaves? Stamp them on the back side of card stock, then cut them out. Ball them up with the balling tool and attach with foam tape.
All products are listed below.

Close up of these wonderful dreamy flowers. Finished with a new product at scrapdelight. When I was there last time...as I was racing out the door...I asked what is this? The answer was don't know, take it and try it.....so I have , and I have even suprised my self. It was a jar of medium with a sparkle in it. You can also see it in the dolie masking. I used the dolie to spray glimmer mist. When dry I used the medium...very happy with the bling bling effect! I used what was left over to finish the edges of the flowers.....we all know that I DO NOT throw any thing away...another day when I was kind to the earth. This product is not on the site yet...as I have it here. It is from Viva and is a gel medium. It will be coming very soon. I shall be using it alot in my future work for sure!

Memory box is a must have to die for product! Here you can see how fine the fence is. So fine that the glossy ran off. Dang! Better luck next time. But it looks great if it is not a close up. I put the glossy on the gate as well. The tag was cut with the Tim Holtz tag die.

Yes you saw right. The dreams was an after thought. The LO was done, but I felt it was missing something....yes it was...DUSTY ATTIC.....came to the rescue! "dreams" was finished with gesso then dabbed in a puddle of glimmer mist...you know the ones I make on plastic. Add a few leaves cut from the brown flip side of the Glitz paper and I was done.

Don't we just love "Glitz" Design Paper.

Products I used on this layout:
Glitz Design "Pretty in Pink" paper
Tim Holtz Alterations(sizzix)
Memory Box Dies- rounded fence 98287 / cherry blossom 98316 / wrought iron gate & fence 98225 & 98164
Marianne Design Dies-leaves LR0226 & circle
Lucky 8 Punch- tatted doily
Mask - Taartonderzetter rond
Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions cling stamps
Dusty Attick Chips-dreams DA0429
Gesso- white
My Paper World- Pearl Pen brown
Glimmer mist- creme de rouge 30110

I hope you have enjoyed visiting this post....I know it has been a while since my last post....but life keeps getting in the way of my posting....I keep trying though.....haven't given up yet!....
till next time.......Scrappy love and hugs  OXOXOXO  Susan

AUSTRALIA! HERE I COME!
I have not booked yet...waiting to get a connecting flight that works for me......and my scrap habits!

What's the best news is.....my DH said he can miss me for two whole months.
PARTY PARTY PARTY!
The down side is..this is a spirit of the moment gift so the budget is low....that is a real serious down side! But hey! I have family that love me dearly.

You shall just have to wait until my next post to find out what the out come of this Delmer will be!

The Melting Pot Workshop

"WINGS and HEARTS"

This is a Workshop given a while ago by Janine at Scrap-Delight. The canvas is to be seen in the store in real life...with Janine's sample.

This was a fun and informative workshop as you can see by the end results, we got to  play a lot. You know, the  stuff you want to do, but don't have the time to experiment and play. So it pays to book  play time for your self....you are worth it!...

A few details of this project. Lots of glimmer mist and flowers. The wings are made with a mold and UT. The color is pearl, which gives it a soft finish and I thought it did not need any thing more.

The cotton tape bow and flowers are  sprayed with Glimmer Mist. In places glitter added for that bling bling thing we all love..most of us that is. You can see the feather and the bees wax used with The Crafter's wWorkshop masks. Amazing what you can do with this product. There are no limits...only your own imagination....

Aren't these Martha Stewart butterfly punches a winner?... every time... and timeless.
I have found them a great investment. I'm not yet board with them.
Just love all the texture, all that lace tape and flowers

I look back on this Work Shop with a lot of pleasure. Thanks Janine and Scrap-Delight.

I hope you all had a scrappy weekend...the weather here sure has been scrappy....I think our summer has been and gone!
Have a scrappy one...till next time....

Just Darling

I'm finally posting something new! I give the blame on Pinterest!....

But as per usual I've been working in the background on workshops. I've just been doing the Flower Power Workshop for Scrapdelight for their 4th Year Anniversary Weekend. It was total success! There was such demand for the Flower Workshop that we also made it available for the next day. So, there will be follow ups... Keep an eye out for the Power of Flowers!

"Just Darling" was made from my favorite manufacturer... What should it be?... Prima Marketing of course!

I'm sharing some close ups, but I won't be giving any details as this is a workshop that is fully booked out for September, 8th, at Scrapdelight

There is always a possibility of doing a repeat - workshop on demand. If there is any interest, please, contact Scrapdelight (Michelle).

That's it for now, fellow scrappies!

Have a scrappy one!
