'View'

This LO is entered into the monthly sketch challenge at DUSTY ATTIC for April. The sketch looked like a breeze....until I started on it. There was a lot of measuring to get it just right. It was not working as planned so I started another....plan B. That was taking so long so I reverted back to the plan A.... Get it right!.... With much frustration and time wasted, and a busy life, I finally got this done. Loaded it and was happy. Got to meet dead lines and personal challenges....thats what makes life never a dull moment!
Journaling was part of the challenge....not normally my thing...but this time I had no problem with it. I wrote the journaling with a gold ebbing pen. If you could read it, it would tell you....This is a view we woke up to every morning while staying with friends in Italy. The vacation house was 10 min. drive from 'Gardemeer' Frans and I had so much fun on this vacation. I have a lot more of these wonderful panorama photos so I can enjoy this vacation all over again.

The paper line I used is from BoBunny-Gabrille
Here you can see the wiring to secure the photo.
The photo and base for flowers and tittle have been attached to gray board. The edges have been sanded, something different from my usual distressing.
This close up shows the Dusty Attic chip-HINGES- There are two pair of larger types of hinges in the same packet. The hinges are first made white, then Gold Glimmer Glam is applied.
You can also see the embossing done with the heat gun. Brackets each side of the lettering. The stamp used -BoBunny- time piece.

Here is just a good photo of the wired flowers. For the Scrappies that live in Holland. I found these flowers at the Action. They also come in pink and clear, which is really good, as you could color them with the copic pens, if you wanted to.
I pulled apart the flower arrangement, which was wired on to a thicker wire. Rewired to how I wanted it. You have to wire the arrangement down through the paper/gray board to secure it. Glue and glue dots is not strong enough. The tittle is made from Qiucutz Grand-ABIGAIL- alphabet

Thats it for this time. Hope you had fun.
Catch you later.... Susan oxox

"2005"

This LO is one of my takes on the Dusty Attic April SKETCH. I found it a challenging sketch...but I made two! This is not entered in the challenge as I went for my first idea. you will see it at DUSTY ATTIC or later on another post. At first I found this LO a bit un-interesting and hard to get it done, but it kept growing and now it is more to my liking.
The paper line is a few years old, it was chosen to complement the color of my jacket. The line is from FOOF-FA-LAA. The photo...a very rare photo of my self with dark hair! Taken at .... yes ...a blast from the past....'SCRAP SALAD'. My LO was chosen as the best for a winter LO contest. This was the first time I had ever won a first prize for any thing, and the prize has been well used. A Quickutz Alphabet. I was asked a few months later if I would like to work in the store. We know what the answer would be! Ah-lase I had only 6 months of going to work to play before the store closed it's doors for personal reasons...thank goodness we have other play places to go.

While creating this LO, I had the chance to reminisce on a lot of fun people and memories. I met a lot of great ladies a gents in the store and have kept some as good friends.

Close up of the Dusty Attic chip. DA0491 FANCY LABELS. First applied gesso, then stickles to match the ribbon. Dusty Attic chips are to be found in Holland at www.scrapdelight.nl

Scrap Salad lettering is made with the Quickutz alpha die: CK Typist. Cut x 5 in card stock, x 1 in FOOF-FA-LAA paper. When glued to LO, glossy added. Great how it pop's. I love to stitch, you can see I have stitched with silver metallic thread- from RAYAR

Leaves are cut from FOOF-FA-LAA with a die from CREATE A SHAPE avec. Stickles are added to give it a bling and green color. The flower blings are something I picked up at the Zeeman....a Dutch budget store. The budget stores are sure worth visiting every now and then.
The blue back ground strip was stamped, then embossed with clear embossing powder. The stamp is from FISKARS. To be found at www.scrapdelight.nl I have also stitched around the blue strip....and of course distressed all edges of the papers. Just love it!

The little rosettes are made the same as a swirl flower. But I have a round punch that I use.It gives a uniform size.As I generally use a lot of these flowers, so I do not want them too big. I like to finished with stickles to give it that pop.

The digits for 2005, are also made from Quickutz - ELIZA
The flowers are from Prima Marketing-BETANICAL MIX. Sprayed with Glimmer Mist to match LO.
These are a great buy. They are an egg shell-off white color, which means you can, ink- em, spritz-em, mist-em, paint-em, stack-em and basically anything-em and they always look great.

This was fun, hope you are all having many scrappy days.......thanks for stopping by....and catch you later.....

'JOURNEY'

When I saw the Websters Pages 'NEW DISCOVERIES'-Your Life paper.I knew exactly which photos to use from my stash....It just took a while to round to putting it all together, as this is an older line. But still a perfect combination of paper and photo..
Jan my eldest son, is here of the age were young boys start to do their fun crazy stuff.I might add, Jan never stopped. Jan is a die hard Marine....and is still doing hairy crazy stuff.
Creating this LO brought back a lot of childhood memories of his youth. Thats another thing I love about scrapping, you get to relive all the good moments all over again.

Close up of the cut work. The blue canoe is 2d. Beads used to simulate a water effect.

Dusty Attic chip used in this close up: DA 0508 FERNS. Painted with gesso then sprayed with Glimmer Mist. The butterfly's are from the new stamp collection from Websters Pages. Stamped, cut, colored with copic pens then, sprayed with perfect Pearls mist-KIWI- from Tim Holtz.
For those living in De NETHERLANDS/HOLLAND you can find these stamps at SIMPLE-SCRAPPEN in DEN HELDER. www.simple-scrappen.nl

Here you see stitching and beads to give that water effect. One of the new Websters Pages stamps used here....love this one.....The sign is great as you can see I have stamped and cut it 3 times to make it 3d. I have also used it for a bit of journaling...Not my best point.,...

This stamp is also to be found at www.simple-scrappen.nl

The flowers are made from Prima Marketing-BOTANICAL MIX- These are great as you can color them to match your paper choice. Ink 'em - paint 'em - spray 'em - stack 'em - there is so much you can do with 'em, only thing is, you keep running out of 'em!
I used Websters Pages Pebbles for the center of the large flower and a vintage brad for the other.
To give the pebbles a red color I applied Glimmer Glam - BE POSITIVE, then glossy when dry.

You can see I have used more pebbles. I placed it between the torn paper and stitched it down with thread. This is repeated at the top of the age. Dusty Attic chips DA0507 FERNS and DA 0508 LEAVES.
The leaves are inked with dark green ink on the tips, spray with green Glimmer Mist, then apply glossy from Ranger.
Using the combination of cut flowers from the paper and the DA chips gives it more interest.
I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I have had making it.
Till the next time.......catch you later.....
